A Sermon by Reverend Hollis Ray Mathis

reetings, holy children of God, in the wonderful name of our lord and saviour Jesus, the Christ. The sermon subject for today is:

Popular Heresies

The word “Popular” defined. 1. Appealing to general public: appealing to or appreciated by a wide range of people. 2. Well-liked: liked by a person or group of people. 3. Appeals to the general public. Heresies defined 1. Unorthodox religious opinion: an opinion or belief that contradicts the Holy Scriptures. Heresy is lies, untruths, propaganda. Here are some of the most popular heresies. (God loves you unconditionally.) God loves his children, but hates the children of Satan. Rom:9:10 And not only this; but when Rebecca also had conceived by one, even by our father Isaiah11(For the children being not yet born, neither having done any good or evil, that the purpose of God according to election might stand, not of works, but of him that calleth;) 12It was said unto her, The elder shall serve the younger. 13As it is written, Jacob have I loved, but Esau have I hated. 14What shall we say then? Is there unrighteousness with God? God forbid. 15For he saith to Moses, I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion. 16So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy. There are men that preach (all men are children of God) but that is heresy, God has His children, but Satan has his children. Mat:13:24 Another parable put he forth unto them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is likened unto a man which sowed good seed in his field: 25But while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went his way. 26But when the blade was sprung up, and brought forth fruit, then appeared the tares also. 27So the servants of the householder came and said unto him, Sir, didst not thou sow good seed in thy field? From whence then hath it tares? 28He said unto them, an enemy hath done this. The servants said unto him, Wilt thou then that we go and gather them up? 29But he said, Nay; lest while ye gather up the tares, ye root up also the wheat with them. 30Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn. Jesus Christ God’s darling Son explains the parable of the Wheat, and the Tares. Mat:13:36Then Jesus sent the multitude away, and went into the house: and his disciples came unto him, saying, declare unto us the parable of the tares of the field. 37He answered and said unto them, He that soweth the good seed is the Son of man; 38The field is the world; the good seed are the children of the kingdom; but the tares are the children of the wicked one; 39The enemy that sowed them is the devil; the harvest is the end of the world; and the reapers are the angels. 40As therefore the tares are gathered and burned in the fire; so shall it be in the end of this world. 41The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity;42And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth. 43Then shall the righteous shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. Who hath ears to hear, let him hear. There are many more children of Satan than children of God. Mat:7:13Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: 14Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. To make heaven your eternal home a person is going to have to walk a narrow path that leads to the Strait Gate. The word “Strait” means difficult. Strait defined, difficult situation: a situation that is difficult or involves hardship. The apostle Paul was inspired of God to record these words. Acts 14:22 Confirming the souls of the disciples, and exhorting them to continue in the faith, and that we must through much tribulation enter into the kingdom of God. There are men that preach that (God loves you unconditionally,) but that is heresy. There are conditions unto God’s love; and one of the conditions is obedience. Rom:6:16 Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness? The way that we as Christians prove that we love God is, we keep His commandments. John 14:15 If ye love me, keep my commandments. (There are men that preach once saved always saved regardless of what you do, but that is heresy.) The strength of any system of law is the fear of consequences. This heresy is designed of Satan to take away fear of the Laws of God. Here are some of the Scriptures that tell of consequences of sin. Once a person has been baptized into the Body of Christ, and has received the Holy Ghost, if the person is circumcised with the intent to keep the Law of Moses he will fall from grace, and Christ will profit him nothing.Gal:5:1Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage. 2Behold, I Paul say unto you, that if ye be circumcised, Christ shall profit you nothing. 3For I testify again to every man that is circumcised, that he is a debtor to do the whole law. 4Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace. Once a person has received the born again experience, if they fall away from the church, and renounces their faith, they cannot repent of that sin. Heb:6 :1Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God, 2Of the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment. 3And this will we do, if God permit. 4For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost, 5And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come, 6If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame. (There are men that preach man is a free moral agent, but that is heresy.) There are only a few things men can do of their own freewill. Why? Because God has bands, and cords on the heathen. Ps:2:1Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing? 2The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD, and against his anointed, saying, 3Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us. 4He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the LORD shall have them in derision. 5Then shall he speak unto them in his wrath, and vex them in his sore displeasure. A man can of his own freewill, give an offering to God. Num:15:3 And will make an offering by fire unto the LORD, a burnt offering, or a sacrifice in performing a vow, or in a freewill offering, or in your solemn feasts, to make a sweet savour unto the LORD, of the herd or of the flock: All of God’s children are predestinated. Rom:8:28And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. 29For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren. 30Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified. 31What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us? God has planned in love for His children so that all things work together for our good. (There are men that preach there is one God, His name is Jesus, Him and none other) that doctrine is heresy. God the Father created the Lord Jesus, His blessed child. Jesus is the first born of every creature. A creature is some thing that has been created. Col:1:14In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins: 15Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature: Jesus Christ is the only God that has ever been created or ever shall be created. Is. 43:l0 Ye are my witnesses, saith the Lord, and my servant whom I have chosen, that ye may know and believe me, and understand that I am He: before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be After Me. 11.I even, I am the Lord: and beside me there is no Saviour. God the Father created the Lord Jesus equal to himself. Phil:2:6Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: For any two things to be equal they must be identical. Therefore was Jesus created of the same substance as the Father, does He have the same power as the Father, does He have the same appearance as the Father? Yes, Jesus was created identical to the Father. God by Jesus Christ created all things. Ephesians 3:9 And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ: Col:1:15Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature: 16For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: 17And he is before all things, and by him all things consist. Before Jesus was born of the Virgin Mary God’s children knew God had a Son but did not know His name. Prov:30:4Who hath ascended up into heaven, or descended? who hath gathered the wind in his fists? who hath bound the waters in a garment? Who hath established all the ends of the earth? What is his name, and what is his son's name, if thou canst tell? Here is, in my opinion, the false doctrine that has sent the most people into flames of Hell. (Faith plus nothing equals salvation.) To inherit by the New Testament, which is the last Will and Testament of Jesus Christ, there are certain things that an heir must do, and certain things the heir must not do. We, as heirs of God must Repent. Luke 13:5 I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish. You must be strong in faith. Acts 16:31And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house. The heirs of God must be baptized, and receive the Holy Ghost. John 3:5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. Baptism is the way into the Body of Christ. Gal:3:27 For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ. Eternal life is in the Body of Christ. 1John 5:11And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. The heirs of God must eat of the Lord’s Supper. Except a man eat of the flesh of Christ, and drink his blood, he will have no life in him in the world to come. John 6:53Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no life in you.The heirs of God must confess Jesus. Rom:10:9That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. Heirs must work in the harvest. Jam:2:17Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone. Rev:20:12And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. We as heirs of God must wash the Saints feet, and allow them to wash our feet. John 13:8Peter saith unto him, Thou shalt never wash my feet. Jesus answered him, If I wash thee not, thou hast no part with me. Here are the sins that we, as heirs of God must not do. Gal:5:19Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, 20Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, 21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God. Rev:21:8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death. If you are not acquainted with these sins you should get a dictionary and look them up. For example “Emulations” is competition, striving to equal or exceed someone at the same thing. Are there many people going into the flames of Hell? In the world to come a giant wine press shall be sat up and those that do evil shall be cast into the wine press, and the wine press shall be tread, and blood shall run in a great valley for two hundred miles.Rev:14:19 And the angel thrust in his sickle into the earth, and gathered the vine of the earth, and cast it into the great winepress of the wrath of God. 20And the winepress was trodden without the city, and blood came out of the winepress, even unto the horse bridles, by the space of a thousand and six hundred furlongs. Think on this, if a person is cast into the lake of fire, there is no end to eternity, when they have been in the fire a hundred thousand years, they will not be released. Fear God and live.
