A Sermon by Reverend Hollis Ray Mathis

reetings, holy children of God, in the wonderful name of our lord and saviour Jesus, the Christ. The sermon subject for today is:

Salvation

Every man, woman, and child, shall have their hour in which they shall stand before God on Judgment Day and give an account of the deeds done while in this tabernacle of flesh. The bible is two Testaments, the Old Testament, and the New Testament. The New Testament is the Last Will and Testament of the Lord Jesus Christ. If a man makes two Testaments, and then dies; it is only the Last Will and Testament that is valid. Since the death of Jesus Christ on Calvary's Cross, the New Testament is valid, in force, the Old Testament is history, and prophecy. Meditate on this question, "What must I do to be saved?" What is salvation? To be a member in the Body of Christ, having received the Holy Ghost, alive spiritually, the inward man the soul is alive, free from sin, and free from the punishment of God that shall come upon those in sin, predestinated to eat of the tree of life, to be heir, and joint heir with Jesus Christ in the world to come. There are certain requirements that must be met to inherit such marvelous gifts as Eternal Life, the Immortal Body, the City New Jerusalem, and be heir and joint heirs with the Lord Jesus in the Kingdom of God. Not to complete the requirements will put your soul in jeopardy. Here are the requirements, and reasons why, that God has revealed to me, of the things we must do. (1.) We must repent.Luke:13:5 I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish. Repentance is turning from doing your own will, to doing the will of God, and being sorrow for the sins that you having committed in the pass. (2.)To inherit a person must be strong in faith. Acts:16:30And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved? 31And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house. (3.)The Elect of God must be born of water, baptized, and born of the Spirit, you must receive the Holy Ghost. When we, the Elect of God, are baptized in the name of Jesus Christ, we are translated out of the world, and into the Body of Christ, the Spiritual Church. Acts:2:38Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. When does a person become whole, or Holy? When they receive the Holy Ghost. When the Elect of God are baptized in the name of Jesus Christ they come into the promise that they shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. Eternal Life is in the Body of Christ. 1John:5:11And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. (4.)You must be obedient to the commandments of God.John:14:14 If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it. 15If ye love me, keep my commandments. This verse is in the Old Testament but I believe it will help you to understand about obeying God. 1 Samuel 15:22 And Samuel said, Hath the LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams. John:3:5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. 6That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. 7Marvel not that I said unto thee, ye must be born again. What is the Kingdom of God? The Kingdom of God is righteousness peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost. Romans:14:17For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost. When the Elect receive the Spirit, the Holy Ghost, the inward man the soul comes to life. 2Corinthians:5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. It is the Holy Ghost that gives us the power to live the Christian life. `1John:3:8He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil. 9Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God. 10In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother. (5.) You must confess the Lord Jesus Christ with your mouth, and believe in your heart that God has rised Him from the dead. Romans:10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. It is the inner man the soul that shall live in eternity, for the soul is renewed day by day. 2Corinthians:4:16For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day. 2Corinthains:5:17Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. (6.)Beloved of God, except a man eat of the flesh of the Lord Jesus, and drink of His blood he will have no life in him. John:6:53Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no life in you. John 6:57As the living Father hath sent me, and I live by the Father: so he that eateth me, even he shall live by me. 58This is that bread which came down from heaven: not as your fathers did eat manna, and are dead: he that eateth of this bread shall live for ever. We eat of the flesh, and drink of the blood, of the Lord Jesus when we partake of the Lord's Supper. Matthew:26:26And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, and blessed it, and brake it, and gave it to the disciples, and said, Take, eat; this is my body. 27And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, Drink ye all of it; 28For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins. (7.) We, Saints of God, must wash the feet of the Saints, and allow them to wash your feet. If a person refuses to allow the Saints to wash his feet he shall have no part with Christ. John:13:8Peter saith unto him, Thou shalt never wash my feet. Jesus answered him, If I wash thee not, thou hast no part with me. 9Simon Peter saith unto him, Lord, not my feet only, but also my hands and my head. (8.) We, children of God, must work in the harvest of souls. Faith without works is dead. James:2:14What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? Can faith save him?15 If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food, 16And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit? 17Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone. Children of God, we must be fruitful. We must win souls to Christ.John 15:1 I am the true vine, and my Father is the Husbandman. 2Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit. If you sing in the choir, cut the grass at the church , help build a church building, give an offering, play on a musical instrument, teach Sunday School, and someone gets saved you are fruitful, I believe that you are an accessory to the fact. To be heir and joint heir with Jesus Christ in the Kingdom to come, there are certain things we must not do. (1.) After that you have received the Holy Ghost, and come into the knowledge of the truth we must not fall away, and renounce your faith. Hebrews 6:1Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God, 2Of the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment. 3And this will we do, if God permit. 4For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost, 5And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come,6 If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame. (2.)After that you have received the Holy Ghost, and come into the knowledge of the truth, you must not circumcise yourself with the intent to keep the Law of Moses. Galatians Galatians 5:1Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage. 2Behold, I Paul say unto you, that if ye be circumcised, Christ shall profit you nothing. 3For I testify again to every man that is circumcised, that he is a debtor to do the whole law. 4Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace. 5For we through the Spirit wait for the hope of righteousness by faith. (3.)After a child of God receives the Holy Ghost they must not do the works of the flesh. Galatians 5:19Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, 20Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, 21Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God. (1.)What is Adultery? A married person that has sex with anyone other than their spouse. (2.)Fornication? Any unlawful sex. (3.)Lasciviousness? Lust (4.)Emulations? Competition (5.) Revellings? Partying to the excess. After you have received the Holy Ghost, and come into the knowledge of the truth; you must not commit these burning offenses. Revelation 21:8But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death. Abominable? Any thing that is disgusting to God. Leviticus 18:13Thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of thy mother's sister: for she is thy mother's near kinswoman. 14Thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of thy father's brother, thou shalt not approach to his wife: she is thine aunt. 15Thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of thy daughter in law: she is thy son's wife; thou shalt not uncover her nakedness. 16Thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of thy brother's wife: it is thy brother's nakedness. 17Thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of a woman and her daughter, neither shalt thou take her son's daughter, or her daughter's daughter, to uncover her nakedness; for they are her near kinswomen: it is wickedness. 18Neither shalt thou take a wife to her sister, to vex her, to uncover her nakedness, beside the other in her life time. 19Also thou shalt not approach unto a woman to uncover her nakedness, as long as she is put apart for her uncleanness. 20Moreover thou shalt not lie carnally with thy neighbour's wife, to defile thyself with her. 21And thou shalt not let any of thy seed pass through the fire to Molech, neither shalt thou profane the name of thy God: I am the LORD. 22Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination. 23Neither shalt thou lie with any beast to defile thyself therewith: neither shall any woman stand before a beast to lie down thereto: it is confusion. Do not drag the Saints back under the Law of Moses by preaching Tithing. For if you build Law again as it was in the days of Moses, you will make your self a transgressor. Galatians:2:18For if I build again the things which I destroyed, I make myself a transgressor. 19For I through the law am dead to the law, that I might live unto God. A person cannot preach one way, and live another. When the Law of Moses' was in effect for righteousness all Israel went under the curse, a sentence of condemnation, because of the tithing Law. Malachi:3:8Will a man rob God? Yet ye have robbed me. But ye say, Wherein have we robbed thee? In tithes and offerings. 9Ye are cursed with a curse: for ye have robbed me, even this whole nation. We, as Saints of God, are to rightly divide the word of truth. Amplified Version of the Bible reads thus. 2Timothy:2:15 15Study and be eager and do your utmost to present yourself to God approved (tested by trial), a workman who has no cause to be ashamed, correctly analyzing and accurately dividing [rightly handling and skillfully teaching] the Word of Truth. The great division in the Bible is between the Old Testament, and the New Testament. There is not one ounce of Salvation in the Old Testament. Use the Old Testament for history, and prophecy. Use the New Testament as a light to your salvation for we shall be judged by the gospel according to the Apostle Paul. Romans 2:16 In the day when God shall judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ according to my gospel. There are multitudes of people, children of Satan that use every means at their disposal to keep you in the dark. Some preach in a language that you do not understand, some teach from translations that are not true, 18For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:19And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.
