Taherabad (Galiakot) in Rajasthan, has for centuries been a place of pilgrimage.  For the Dawoodi Bohra Muslim brotherhood in particular, it is of very special significance.  The revered mashad of Syedi Fakhruddin Shaeed (A.Q.) is situated there.  He chose martyrdom and laid down his life for the sake of his Deen.  His cherished memory and the courage of his religious  conviction to this day inspire all those who believe in truth, justice and the dignity of man.

Maulaya Yaqoob (Vaali of Hind at that time) sent him to that part of Rajasthan which is called "vaaghar" (vaaghad). There, he established Dawat. In Galiakot, he delivered "waaz" in the beginning of Muharam-ul-Haraam, remembered the sad incident of Karbala, made mumineen weep on Imam Husain (AS) and do "maatam". There, he also collected the "waajebaat" of mumineen.

On 27th of Muharram-ul-Haraam, when he was leaving Galiakot and was still near the town, some dacoits attacked on him near a pool. He fought with them courageously and his companions were killed. When, the sun set, he performed the "maghrib namaaz". At that time the dacoits attacked from behind and slaughtered him there. When the mumineen of Galiakot heard about this incident, they came quickly to that place, but found that their Maula breathed the last.

According to Shariat, mumineen buried him in that place. Afterwards, that place became a centre of ziyarat of thousands of people - Bohras and NonBohras. He was called "babjee maula".
