Curriculum Enrichment
Ashley River also offers these special arts areas: Suzuki Strings, Charleston County Strings, Chorus, Ballet, Jazz Dance, Art Guild, Drama, & Pied Pipers (a percussion and recorder ensemble). The News Team produces the morning news show over the school television network. Computer Club publishes a school literary magazine and participates html training.

Ashley River Creative Arts Elementary School, in partnership with parents and community, will provide all students the opportunity to reach their maximum potential through an arts integrated academic curriculum providing relevant, diverse, and challenging learning experiences in a safe and positive environment.
Beliefs
Involvement: Family, staff and community must cooperate to provide a quality educational system.
Responsibility: Parents, students, staff, and community share responsibility for the development of each student.
Self-Worth: Every individual is entitled to respect and the opportunity to experience success.
Opportunity: Every student will experience an arts infused environment.
Student Council
Student Council consists of two students from each fourth and fifth grade classroom. The first member is selected by popular vote of classroom peers. The second member is selected by the teacher.
*Students meet each week to talk about what is happening at the school and to plan ways that the school can help the community. They also plan ways to get all students involved in school spirit. Another role of the council is to plan ways to keep the building clean and neat.
*Student Council members are tour guides who meet and greet special school visitors and take them on tours of the school.
*Student Council members are also hall monitors before and after school. Their purpose is to ensure that the school is safe for everyone. They remind students not to run or talk loudly in the hallways. The moniters hand out special coupons to students who are following the rules and are "caught being good".
