As an integral part of the basic instructional program, children enrolled at Ashley River Creative Arts Elementary will be provided with varied opportunities for arts-oriented learning experiences. The infusion of the arts throughout the curriculum will enhance and improve the quality and quantity of aesthetic education offered and will expand the use of the arts for cognitive, psychomotor and affective learning experiences. The arts-oriented approach to the basic curriculum will integrate all aspects of the learning process in the development of the whole child. Feelings, senses, and intuition, as well as the intellectual and physical self, will be nutured with particular emphasis on critical thinking, individual creative expression, and social responsibility. The enriched arts curriculum will have several facets: 

1.Provide Infusion of Arts in the Curriculum 
The teacher will integrate the arts through an attitude and style of teaching that
uses arts processes as naturally as books, chalkboards and lectures. Infusion
signifies that the arts will be incorporated through interdisciplinary studies. Using the interdisciplinary approach, teachers will provide each student with learning experiences enriched through the arts. 

2.Provide Pure Arts Experiences in Each Art Discipline 
The child will have the opportunity to experience and understand the major art
forms of art, music, dance and drama as creative forms of human expression.
Through the variety of experiences offered, each child's talents will be identified
and nurtured. 

3.Provide Interrelated Arts Experiences
The school will be committed to provide for students experiences which explore the interrelationships of the pure art forms.
