April 15, 1933 - May 18, 1995

By all accounts that I have read, Liz Montgomery was born and raised with the proverbial silver spoon...but that never came across in any interviews or articles that I have read about her. Her friends, co-workers and family speak of her as very kind, loving and giving.

Though she had a long and successfull career on Broadway, tv and movies, I was enchanted by her character "Samantha" on the tv series "Bewitched". Where I first saw this talented , funny, beautiful actress.

Some of her later tv movie roles include; "Black Widow Murder:The Blanche Taylor Moore Story", "Sins of The Mother", "With Murder in Mind".

She was also nominated for an Emmy for her role in "The Legend of Lizzie Borden" - a movie which I found to be a bit weird but she was good in the role.

In 1963, she married William Asher, the producer/director of "Bewitched". They have three children. But she often called Robert Foxworth the love of her life. They met in 1974 while filming the movie "Mrs. Sundance". They lived together and were eventually married...they remained together until her death.

Elizabeth designed many of her costumes on "Bewitched". She also was nominated for 5 Emmy awards for her role on the show.

On April 19, 1998,(her birthday) The Elizabeth Montgomery Celebration Fashion Show, Auction and Sale was held with proceeds going to charity.

Elizabeth Montgomery died of cancer and was cremated. Her ashes are reportedly with Robert Foxworth in the home they shared together.

Many thanks to the folks at the Bewitched and Elizabeth Montgomery site for allowing me to use their photos! Click HERE for their wonderful site!
