Genealogy

This page is under construction, so please bear with me.

Different members of my family work on the Pavey genealogy. The Pavey name originates in France. We believe the original spelling is Pave', but we're still trying to confirm that. My first ancestors came to America in 1812.

William Gilliam Pave was an officer in Napolean's army. He fought in the Moscow campaign, being one of the few survivors. He was captured by the British and was sent to America. While enroute, the ship ran aground in the Chesapeake Bay. He and several other prisoners jumped over the side and swam to shore. He settled in Caroline County, Virginia.

We're still working on other details and I will list them as I get them. I have a lot more information, but its late and I'm going to bed.

If anyone has any information, please send me a note. Thanks.
