Hobbies

Hmmmmm, what are the things that I like to do? I love just about every sport out there, and I have either played for a team or played for fun all my life. I played football and baseball growing up, and I wrestled in high school, finishing seventh in the state. Now, I play softball for my church team.

My favorite sport is professional football and the only team is the DALLAS COWBOYS !!!! I went to Dallas in 1996 to see them beat up on Green Bay, and the game wasnt even close, as Dallas won 21-6. That was the game Chris Boinol tied the NFL record for field goals in a game. In 1997, I saw them lose to the Carolina Panthers.

I have to admit I am too much of a Dallas fanatic, but I can't help it. When you look at people like Tom Landry, Roger Staubach, Bob Lilly, Tony Dorsett, Too Tall Jones, Randy White, Troy Aikman, Emmitt Smith, and I could go on and on, but, what is there not to like about them? They are tied with winning the most Super Bowls. They've gone to the most Super Bowls, and they've done just about everything. I think that speaks for itself.

My favorite baseball team is another great one, the Cincinnati Reds. My favorite player is Johnny Bench, who was the greatest catcher ever to play the game. I liked the way he played the game; no fussing, no arguing, just hit the home runs, drive in the runs, and move on. It was reported that at one contract negotiation he told the organization to pay him what they thought he was worth. How many greedy players would say that now? They would hold out until their pockets were overfilled with money, and most of them aren't worth what the owners are paying them.

Peter Edward Rose deserves to be in the Hall of Fame!!!! His baseball statistics, his love for the game, his drive, and his ability are what counts, not that he didn't pay his income taxes or that he bet on baseball. If outside troubles kept people out of the Hall of Fame, then many great players would not be there now, including Mickey Mantle. Baseball should wake up!

Baseball should also wake up and get rid of a commissioner that was an owner. How can a former owner make decisions that benefit baseball when he is only looking out for the owner's best interests and not baseball? He's doing more to destroy baseball than the greedy owners themselves.

I love the movies The Right Stuff, Apollo 13, Midway, the series that was on HBO, From the Earth to the Moon, and my two best movies of all time, Titanic and Gladiator.

I love many other aspects of life. I like history; going to movies; astronomy; baseball card collecting; reading about the mob, CIA, and FBI; traveling; and computers. The one place I want to go to is Europe. There is so much history there and it is such a beautiful place. Oh yeah, me and my brother Jay do some family research, or as most people would say, genealogy. Well, I will add more as I think of it.
