When I come to a church (it doesn't matter what kind of church),
in fact, it doesn't really have to be a church, whenever I see kids,
I always like to talk about this same story:
"Yes, Jesus
Loves Me!"
The Lord really grounded me by using a little child with Down Syndrome.
Now the world has funny names for children like that—Mongoloid, retarded, and slow.
But the Lord wanted to use a child like this to teach me a lesson. This
little boy was with all the children up in front (during the children's participation time
in the concert) and he never missed a beat. And afterward, when church
was done, he came running. And I knew there was no stopping him, so I had my
arms out and he fell right into them. And that chubby little face went right
up to mine and he said, "Nell! Nell! I God's kid!" And I thought, Thank you, Lord,
you don't need to knock me over with that one again. The Lord used
what the world called simple and slow, and the look on his face said it all.
