Jeff Burton and NASCAR
Jeff Burton is the driver of the #99 Exide Batteries Ford Taurus. He just switched to the Taurus after driving Ford Thunderbird for his whole career. He was elected rookie of the year in 1994 when he drove the #8 Rabestoes Ford Thunderbird. His owner then was the Stavola Brothers. In 1995 Jack Roush who already owned the #6 team of Mark Martin and the #16 car of Ted Musgrave asked him to drive for him. In 1995 and 1996 he went winless until in 1997 when he won the Inaugural Inerstate Batteries 500 at the new Texas Motor Speedway. Then he went on to win at New Hampshire and Martinsville and finished 4th in the final point standings. In 1998 he started out bad but went on to finish second in the Las Vegas 400,MBNA 400,Goody's 500,and the Pepsi Southern 500, until he won at New Hampshire again and at the Exide Batteries Nascar Select 400 at Richmond.
