Mountain Brook Hole #2

Hole #3

Measuring just 520 yards from the tips, the third hole is a real scoring opportunity. When the tees are all the way back, a carry of almost 200 yards is needed to reach fairway. However, from the more forward tee positions, an average drive short leave the golfer with a real chance to get home in two. Longer hitters will have anything from a four to eight iron approach. The fairway short of the green provides plenty of layup room. Any shot that strays to far to either side on the approach will likely find one of several bunkers.

The green is narrow but deep. A back pin position sits on the second of two tiers. Make sure you swing enough club as balls that land short of the green are unlikely to release and roll on. Once on the green, most putts will subtly break towards the front, unless of course you must come across the ridge that separates the two tiers. Four is the target score on this whole.
