I agree with your "jeep sucks" comments. Bought new 97 Cherokee sport. CD player replaced 3 times. Initially condensation leaked from under dash from A/C in hot humid weather. After 3 visits it finally got fixed. In second year of life, volt meter showed evere over charging (needle buried). blew battery caps off top of battery!--at same time, transmission would not shift at all or in a very erratic manner. after number of trips back to dealer, seems ok-several wire harness shorts-new battery, new alternat r. Chrysler paid part of bill even though miles warranty was over. Also agreed to offer me a $2500 rebate on a new one if I was so inclined! Most recent problem was random severe engine miss and back-firing. Only way to accelerate was to "floor" the gas p dal when it happened! Very scary in snow! 3 times back to dealer for this. Each time he said problem was fixed (first-replaced oxygen sensor, second time he felt it needed complete tune-up, third time he replaced another oxygen sensor, apparently this car has 2, ---after all this, car still is not right, runs rough,service manager admits car is not right but does not know what to do!.Says he contacted chrysler and neither do they!. Car has 66,000 mi. I get this propoganda jeep mag in the mail showing jeeps with 300,000 mi. What a krok of sh--. Oh, all of the above after the car ran out of gas when guage showed a quarter of a tank left. This was common and only after the threat of a class action lawsuit did they issue a recall to correct the problem. This oc ured in 1997. To top it off the $25000 car has a trade in value of less than $10000. I am going back to japanese cars which served me extremely well in the past. If anyone has solution fot the missing and backfiring problem, please E Mail me (also pass it on to Chrysler)

Well Done! I couldn't have said it any better. Most Jeep fanatics just don't get it..they say "its a Jeep, not a Lexus" or "you bought a truck, what do you expect". Bullshit! An automobile should have these problems when it is brand new, whether Jeep, Honda, Chevy, truck, sedan, sports car or other. F* Jeep!

If jeeps suck so much , why do keep buying one??You know first run model changes have their quirks,look at 93 ZJ"s ,what about your 99 WJ? That's new for 99'4.7 engine ,T-case,gerator diff's,these are SPORT UTLITY not a LEXUS,I see all the problems with j ep vehicles 5 days a week over all they last.You must like jeeps to have purchased 3.Sincerly,Jeep Master Tech (10years)RAGS

I have a 99 jeep grand cherokee with 15k miles and I'm going to get another one for my wife becouse this car is too nice. I have not have any problems, not even one!. maybe you just had bad luck, but I love my truck and I'm getting one more.....
