On Thursday, November 19, 1998 at approximately 2100 hours (9 o'clock PM) the first tones were issued for a structure fire in the Great Bowdoin Mill, a large factory in the town of Topsham, Maine, that had been abandoned for years.
It was not until approximately 1530 the next day that Firefighters from the town of Topsham left their Fire Department to return home. What happened in between these times is perhaps one of Fates cruelest tricks, as a mammoth building burned before the eyes of Firefighers from 15 towns and Cities.
