Nov. 5, I am getting on the Ticabus ($40 roundtrip) to Panama City. Got your PC information, too. Hope to see the locks, etc. and eat at the cafe you mentioned. Much rain here in San Jose Costa Rica, but is getting better with each day, and as Mitch continues to move north and east from Nicauraga. Hope no landslides hit our bus as we wind through the mountains southwest of Cartego and along the Pacific to Panama ity. I hope you had success in your Chirripo ascent. The weather was miserable that day, wasn't it? I hiked up to the base of Uran and camped in very wet conditions and then summ ted and came down the following day. The day AFTER you were going up Chirripo the weather was good up high and I actually had fine views from Uran. What a strange environment up in the Paramo. Anyway, the best of luck with your travels.
