  Modifications include:

  400 chevy engine:  TRW forged pistons, Sealed power single moly rings,
Clevite 77 bearings, Felpro gaskets, 2.02 intake/1.6 exaust valves, Screw in
rocker studs/pushrod guide plates, 1.6:1 roller rockers on exaust, ports
matched intake/exaust, Hardened exaust seats, 17 quart oil pan, Hi volume oil
pump, Cloyes double roller timming set, Engle cam, Polished/shot peened rods
w/SPS rod bolts, External oil cooler w/electric fan. Block - Align honed,
Decked, Honed .030 over, Brass plugs. Crank - Mag inspected, Ground .010/.010,
Oil holes chamfered, "Cool Case" Hardened.
Balanced, Run on dyno 325 hp @5000 rpm. All work was done at my own shop.

  Vehicle:  Custom roll over structure/hard top and roll structure for
trailer, Windshields fold out, sound deadening material inside cab and engine
compartment, Off road driving lights, Heater, Engine powered air compressor,
Spare tire mounted in trailer, 2 Hi lift jacks, Tire changing tools, Spare
winch cable, Tire chains, Knack box w/spare parts all mounted inside trailer,
Spare drive axles mounted under trailer, Dual front shocks, CB radio.

  There is a lot more that I can't even remember.

  Spare parts: About 25 extra mounted tires, Transfer case, Transmission, U-
joints, Ball joints, Tie rods, Drive axles, Canvas, Lots of other misc. parts.

  The Gamagoat is a 6x6 military truck. The front and rear wheels steer
opposite each other. (this makes it a lot more maneuverable than it looks) The
chassis is articulated. (see the diagram in the manual, this keeps all the
wheels firmly on the ground on uneven terrain giving it lots of traction) It
drives all 6 wheels and has limited slip differentials on all three axles. It
has a PTO winch. It has a military pintle hitch for towing, It is amphibious.
(I never wanted to risk it, although the book says that it will do 4mph in the
water) It even slices and dices. (if you want to throw stuff at the fan)

  This vehicle has been used for off road camping all over the California
desert from Death Valley to Blythe. It will haul the wife, the dogs, the
motorcycle, and all the other junk you need for luxury camping. I have also
used it for Search and Rescue work, hauling lots of people and gear through
snow and mud across deep water and up steep hills. Rescued people stranded by
swift water, by using roads and terrain impossible for a 4x4. I have also done
some off road vehicle recovery work, I can go where tow trucks can't.

  The performance is really impressive. It will cruise the freeway at 70mph
all day long. It rides really smooth and handles very well on the road, not
bad even on mountain roads. Off road the ride is better than any 4x4 that I
have been in, soft springs and 38 inch tall tires help a lot. It is very
stable on steep terrain, up, down or traverse. It climbs very steep, rutted,
rocky, off camber, hills usually hardly slipping a wheel. It handles mud and
snow very well. I have pulled a heavily loaded 3/4 ton military trailer off
road up some very steep hills and down, through sand and over some very
difficult terrain and had no trouble, in fact, it was a blast. This thing has
so much traction and pulling power it is amazing. The first time I drove it
off road all I could do was giggle, it would go over almost anything I pointed
it at (including an old Volkswagen body). Before this I had a Landcruiser with
a V-8 engine and all the stuff. Driving the Gamagoat was like the difference
between a full on 4x4 with lockers, big tires, gears and a big engine and your
moms station wagon with one exception, this thing does not need to be thrashed
to make it go. Just take it slow and easy, rarely do you need to use speed to
get over or through anything. I built it to get there and back, it has, and it
will.
