The Nippo Maru is a fairly deep wreck. She's worth the extra effort to dive, though, because she's unique and quite intact. Like the San Francisco Maru, the Nippo has a light tank on her deck. This tank is probably a type 97, which is an improved version of the type 95s aboard the San Francisco Maru. She also has a few light artillery pieces on deck. These look like the common 105mm field howitzer used by the Imperial Japanese Army all across the Pacific and China/Burma theaters.
