Was my daily driver is a 1988 1/2 hard top: stock only upgrade plans
for it is maybe a Weber and
Header and 2" cat back. Bought it for $1000.00 + tax engine blew up
on the way home can any
one say engine needs coolant ? Well they just changed the water pump
and radiator since I
drove it earlier that day and guess what they still didn't get the
leek it turned out to be a heater
hose under the carb. The rings was shot blew smoke like a insect fogger
the dealer where I got it
tried to tell me it was a blown head gasket so removed the head took
it in and had it tested it
was ok believe it or not. The block on the other hand wasn't found
a guy that had a block and no
head the block was rebuilt at some time unknown mileage but with my
reconditioned head
turns out $600.00 later I have a good running truck only other thing
so far is a set of General AT
& wheels I got from a friend with low miles for $325.00 so all
and all not a bad daily driver for
under $2000. Tranny started making noise in 5th gear so replaced it
with a low mileage junkyard
tranny also last spring kids rocked it and needed windshield replaced
along with a lot of little dents removed.
Now with almost $3000.00 in to it and a lot of hard work now I decided
to put it up for sale first $2500 takes it home.
funny how plans change as you go! I traded this samurai for a low mile
8 valve 1.6,a calmini 1.6 install kit, front lockright, custom front bumper,
a rear bumper, 6 point r, rear CJ spring mounts, and a few other ods &
ends I needed.
