The story:
I first purchased the Blazer in 91. It was bone stock with small P235 tires on it. I kept pretty much stock until 94 where I really started to modify the crap out of it. The drivetrain came from an 80 GMC 3/4 ton including the 454. I then swapped the Blazers 10 bolt axles and a small block with the GMC and sold it. Unfortunately, I have had bad luck with engines. The stock 350 needed more hp so it was stroked to a 383 but I destroyed it by not welding the oil pickup tube and not having a oil pressure gauge hooked up (duh). Then the used 454 from the GMC was installed but 2000 miles later I lost rod bearings 7 and 8 destroying the crankshaft. I then purchased another 454 and so far, so good... The 465 tranny and 205 TC was rebuilt by A-1 transmission. The GMC's front axles was toast from water being inside so I acquired a Dana 44 from a 3/4 Surburban. The stock paint from 87 really stinks and started to fade and peel badly. I had Arvada Autobody do the paint and crazy Jared Peterson did the graphics (I think Jared has sniffed too much paint in his lifetime). The Blazer has won 3 trophies out of 3 shows and has been featured in 4 Wheel & Offroad July 98 magazine. It has been a job getting this far but it has paid off in the end. Next, I plan on installing a roll cage, a Dana 60 for the front, reverse shackles for the rear, and an onboard welder. It will never be complete...
