We have received a lot of inquiries from readers about a possible 15th year class reunion this December. Why not ? And so, we have requested some of our energetic classmates, Chito Salud-Bambi Agustin-Dondi Dizon-Miriam Agno, to plan this monumental event. Please disseminate this information. Those of you who are in some foreign lands, please start saving for your plane fare back home. Start exercising to look good. See your dermatologist or your plastic surgeon soon. Let's make this a fun activity. Speaking of reunions, the Annual UERMMMC Alumni Convention will be held on August 2-5 at the Paris Casino Resort in Las Vegas, Nevada. Interested parties may call the Executive Director, Dr. Roly Mendoza at GRGMendoza@aol.com

Since we started our website a little over a month ago, we have received quite a number of responses mostly from classmates and some from curious visitors WORLDWIDE. Most of them have complimented our work. Some have offered constructive criticisms. We have implemented some of these suggestions like not using any abbreviations (Philippine General Hospital for PGH, New York for NY, etc.), stating the country like Laguna Province,Philippines. A global audience was not anticipated at the start. To meet this challenge, we have registered our site to at least 20 search engines (for free) to expand our publication using the keywords University of the East, Philippines, College of Medicine, Class 1985 and UERMMMC. We might not know it but a classmate may be practicing in Antarctica or somewhere in the Amazon River. The purpose of the site is to keep the lines of communication open to our classmates and friends. Keep sending those suggestions.

One of our classmates reported seeing Gary Lopez featured in a medical article in the Panorama magazine of the Manila Bulletin. Magnet Matias-Chan has a column on the "TINIG" magazine in Hong Kong. She answers medical questions of the Filipino Migrant Population or the "OCW's." The editorial column of Jose Guevara (Manila Bulletin) dated August 1, 1998 included a greeting : "Happy Birthday to Diego Miguel Cuajunco who'll turn 1 year old today. He is the second son of Dr. Delfin Cuajunco and Dr. Eileen Alikpala-Cuajunco.

Tinton Javellana is presently the company physician of Agip-Chevron-Texaco Group based in Houston,Texas. As part of his job, he gets to tour around the world . Once in Australia, he bumped into Marita Garcia. When he went to New York and visited the Statue of Liberty, he saw Eugene Dy...inside the CR (comfort room) of the Statue. In 1988, while strolling along Wilshire Boulevard in Los Angeles, he saw a stranger staring at him. Tinton got apprehensive and scared. A robbery or possibly a homicide may happen along Wilshire Boulevard.. But he remained calm. He convinced himself that it might just be a chance stare. But NO! The man continued to stare and started approaching him. When the light became better...the stranger turned out to be Ben Faigao.

Since we launch our website last 7/23/98, three of our classmates have responded. This is something we would like to happen. They provided some information about our other classmates. It is really now becoming a WEB !! I have asked permission to publish their messages so you can feed your curiosity (see IL POSTINO). We apologize if some of the pages are under construction since we need more feedback from you. So keep on sending those tidbits and help keep our site alive !
