My family has always owned IH vehicles and my first 4X4 was a 71 1200 pu, but I wheeled a CJ-5. When I saw Bret's Scout in Peterson's I made up my mind to build a Scout to show the local boys up here that a Scout could go anywhere that their Jeeps would. used Wagoneer front springs and front housing , a little easier to springover. It's a lot like Bret's set up and works good too. Great web page. Look forward to seeing Your Scout in some Magazine soon.

Cool page, I love to see other folks wheelin' that farm equipment. Our rigs are fairly similar in many ways. I organize an annual trip through the Rubicon for our club Sierra Scouts each year, this years event is September 10-12. This would make a fine finish to your career as a binder owner. Make sure to invite your brother as well. We'll have registration info posted at our website SierraScouts.com in about a month, or you can call me at 707.577.8273. Your Jeep project sound like most nice ones, a eep body with real parts from somethin' else. If I ever decide to go smaller (god knows these things are big and heavy) I'll probably build an early Scout with my parts. Less overhang (Halleluyuh), slightly narrower, flat dash, simple engine compartment and my 345 will bolt in and my wider axles will be just right, and while they look goofy stock I know of several guys that have built ones that looks absolutely cool. Have fun, and if you don't show up for the Con maybe I'll ask for a tour of Woodpecker. Sean

I ran across your site thru Glenn Wakefields. So far it looks killer! I think Scouts make excellent rigs, woulden't mind owning one. How is winter rockcrawling down there? Cold & wet? I live 10 min south of SLC Utah and winters suck wheelin wise. Keep up he good work. Greg

Hi, Todd! I've only met you through magazine pictures and Norm Petersen's stories (he roomed with me for a while.) Maybe I'll get a chance to watch your trail stunts someday. Until then, nice site so far. Keep it up!
