MY OTHER SCOUTS...

There could end up begining some seriously interesting machines on this page.

Ok, this is the deal with this page, this is where I show off any
Scouts that I have acquired during my restoration.

Most of these Scout are ones that my Dad has found either in the woods or in
people's back yards.

Back when we started this project I remember my Dad saying "I dont want a yard
full of these things!!"  But he keeps bring them home, so what the hell?

Now for PICs:

The BLUE Scout 800

This is a 1966 Scout 800.  My dad spoted this one in the wood.  After getting permission
from the land's owner we brought this beauty home.  The best part is: IT WAS FREE!!
It doesn't have a motor, transmission or transfer case.  However it does have seats that we can
use and look at the neat tire carrier.
If you cant tell from the pictures this think is pretty tired,  it had 83,900 miles no floor boards
and the doors dont close.  Actually there isnt much left of it now cause my Dad took the body
off so we could use is for parts.

The Blue/Green/Red Scout 800

This is a 1967 Scout 800.  It has a v-266 motor, 3 speed trans, Dana 27A axle in the front and a Dana 44 axle in the rear.  The motor runs great but as you can see the body is in rough shape.  This Scout was found by my Dad in an old man's back yard.  We ended up paying $150 for this beast, but i think that it is worth $150 just for the v-266.  This is hopefully going to be the next project.  My Dad wants to make it into a mud machine/plow truck.  We'll see. We definitely do next something to replace the other scout as the plow vehicle around here.
The only set back to this truck is that the right rear hub has no studs.  This is do to the fact that someone came along before us and bought the rear brake drum.  In the process of getting it off thie managed to beat all the studs and to ruin the threads.  Oh well.
The main reason that my dad bought this machine was so that we could use the seats that were in it.  There as in near new condition, much better than that ones from the above Scout.

NEXT:

1972 Scout II:

This is another one of those free scouts.  This one came from my neighbor.  He had been using it to plow his driveway but when he couldn't get it started one winter he replaced it with a GMC JIMMY!! Anyway, This scout is a very interesting case.  As it is possible to see from the pictures, it has a half cab.  This is no ordinary half cab.  It is infact the front half of the standard travel top welded to the lift gate section of the back of the top. Very interesting.  Also, probably do to extensive rust, one of the previous owners cut the body in half, and welded the bed from an old Ford of something, so that it would be a pickup.  If you could see the back you would realize that someone used this beast to pull stumps, because the rear bumper is all bent.  This Scout has a 304 V-8, automatic transmission, Dana 20 transfer case, Dana 27A in  the front and a 44 in the rear.  It is really pretty useless do to the fact that the brakes dont work and the pinion in the front axles is striped.  However is does run pretty well and it does drive.

The FUN never ends.
