Silver Lake Trail Ride

July 14, 2001 Near Kirkwood, CA

This was a great ride. We spent most of our time on rocky single track trails between 6k and 8k ft elevation.

We started out on the Buck Meadow trail.

With view like these is was hard to keep my eyes on the trail. This is looking toward Kirkwood.

Here's the group taking a break on a very rocky trail that drops into Government Meadow from Buck Meadows trail .

Here's Rob futher down the trail practicing his rock skills.

Here's the upper part of Horse Canyon Trail. Quite rocky.

Here's Scott and Rob on a rocky outcroping further up the trail.

Here's part of the group with Silver Lake in the background.

Granite Lake was very pretty.

On our bonus loop (hidden trail NW of Silver Lake towards Tragedy Creek) Rob's clutch stopped working because of loss of fluid. That has never happened with my cable clutch. I think he rode better without his clutch than with it (much more commitment!)
