Car Restoration Project

1972 Olds Cutlass Supreme

Welcome to another project page!

My son Joseph and I started this project in the spring of 1998, and finished the majority of mechanical and bodywork in mid-May (in time for Joseph's Grade 12 Graduation) of 2007.

We found this car in a friend's "boneyard" (a.k.a. pasture full of old cars and trucks). It had been treated roughly, then left to rust for several years. The motor (an Olds Rocket 350) had been pulled, and the automatic transmission was damaged beyond repair. There was no driveshaft, and the rear springs were sagged so badly that it looked like they were broken. Hardly a body panel was undamaged, and the rear quarter panels were rusted out. This car was a true "diamond in the rough".

Below are a couple of "before" photos.

Below are some links to pages featuring photos and explanations of various stages of the project.

Click on any of these links (as they become available) and enjoy!
