INSTALLATION PART 6:

Its time to mount the new Mopar Intake manifold and throttle body. Since I've already removed the intake manifold and carb, I was ready to mount the new MPI intake manifold. I placed the manifold gasket onto the existing studs on the side of the block. I then placed the manifold over the gasket and hand tightened a couple easy to reach bolts to hold the manifold into position for now. With a little balancing and moving the gasket was re-aligned and ready for me to tighten the manifold hardware. The instruction gave me a specific intake manifold torque sequence chart. See instructions for details.

INSTALLATION PART 7:

Its now time to place replace the factory charcoal canister. The factory location on my Wrangler is under the windshield washer resevoir. I Marked each hose connecting to the factory canister so it will make it easier when re-installing the new canister. The new supplyied charcoal canister has the same dimensions as the old one so I decided to just use the old factory mount instead of using the new mount. I took this time to install the Wiring harness computer. Although the instruction dont really specify were to mount the computer I've seen other MPI equipped jeeps with them mounted on the driverside firewall. I went ahead and drilled a couple holes and mounted the computer. See pictures for details. I then went ahead and re-installed the new supplied windshield washer fluid resivoir. This too is supplyied in the kit for some odd reason. If you dont feel like hastling it the stock one works just fine. I went ahead and put the new one in because my old one appeared to be cracking and rather weathered. Using the new mounting bracket the new resivoir slide into the same position as the factory unit. See pictures for more details of the follwoing installations.

INSTALLATION PART 8:

The fuel system was next on my installation. I started by carefully cutting both the main fuel line and return fuel line. These run parrallel with each along the driverside frame rails. The instruction suggest cutting the lines approx. 2 inch's from the firewall. Be sure to mark these lines before cutting them to avoid complications. Using the supplyed fuel line I attached the fuel lines to the new fuel lines coming from the new intake manifold. Using the supplyed hose clamps make sure they are really tightened to avoid leakage. From here the only thing left is to move to the back of the Jeep were the instructions suggest mounting the new fuel pump and fuel filter. I went ahead and mounted them both on the crossmember as shown in the pictures below. The MPI kit supplyed all the necessary hardware to mount the pump and filter. EFI rated fuel line is also included to conclude the installation. See pictures below to see were I mounted my pump and filter.
