Courses and Italian Culture

(February-May 1998)

LEVEL 1

This course is for learners who already have a basic understanding of Italian: can greet people, ask and give directions and simple personal information, understand messages

LEVEL 2

This course is for learners who can ask and answer general questions on people and places, introduce themselves, read and write short messages, carry on a very simple conversation.

LEVEL 3

This course is for learners who already have some familiarity with past and future tenses and can describe, in a simple way, past experiences and future plans.

This course is for learners who understand and are able to join in a simple conversation about family and work and who can use all the past tenses with confidence

LEVEL 5

This course is for learners who understand and are able to discuss short articles from Italian newspaper and magazines and who can express likes, dislikes, hopes and opinions.

PARLIAMO E SCRIVIAMO

This course is for student with a fair knowledge of the Italian language. Its aim is to improve the oral and writing skills of the students. The course is conducted in Italian. Students work in pairs or small groups and are exposed to different kinds of written text (formal and informal letters, reports, newspaper, articles, notes, instructions, etc.).

ASCOLTIAMO E PARLIAMO

This course is for students with a fair knowledge of the Italian language. Its aim is to improve the speaking and listening skills, while developing the students' knowledge of Italian culture. The course is based on group activities and discussions of articles from Italian newspaper and magazines. An integral component is the use of a variety of video and audio materials

ITALIAN FOR ITALIANS

(Level 1 and 2)

This course is for learners of Italo-Australian origin, whose comprehension of oral Italian is already good. The course will concentrate on improving oral and written Italian trough exercises especially structured for this group of learners.

Il corso consiste nella lettura, analisi e discussione di brani di autori o autrici contemporanei allo scopo di approfondire la conoscenza della lingua e della cultura italiana. Nella scelta dei brani verra' seguito un approcio telematico. I partecipanti dovranno avere una buona conoscenza dell'italiano

INTENSIVE COURSE:Twenty two-hours lessons,twice a week. Total : 40 hours.
