Baja North (Norte) includes the border cities of Tijuana, Tecate, and Mexicali.
These cities offer some great duty-free shopping on such items as cosmetics, perfumes, and liquors.
The areas surrounding Rosarito Beach (such as Puerto Nuevo) are famous for lobster restaurants.
Although this area is mostly a weekend and summer tourist area,
there is a sizable permanent population of Americans.
It is easy commuting distance from San Diego, California.
San Felipe is a perfect winter vacation center.
The summers in San Felipe are just too hot for most North Americans.
If you like off-roading and dirt bikes, this is heaven!
Ensenada has a nice Mediteranian climate that is suitable for year-round living.
It offers duty-free shopping, wonderful dining, and great fishing.

Front Patio at Casa de Baja in Campo Lopez
Casa de Baja in Campo Lopez is located about an hour's drive past
the Tijuana border by a small town called Cantamar (K55 on the old road).
We packed up the jeep and the dirt bike and off we went!
