I have finally acquired the sand rail that I have always wanted. It is a rolling chassis with a tranny. I get to add what I want to turn it into the perfect "Urban ass-ault Vehicle". It will be a stealthy looking beast with black American Racing 15" rims all the way around with BFGoodrich Long Trail T/A's keeping it straight. just bought my sandrail (and it is cool) my friends said it kicks ass but i had no idea it's an 1835 with .385 duration and .275 lift stinger and 33's for tires. with a 90 inch wheel base. it'll pack the front tires through third and i love it. it also has a bus trans and a very ugly orange paint job

hello magic! first off all - your site is great! i had a '89 cj8 jeep and sold it 3 months ago. now saving for a newer version (an M240 "storm" - an israeli built military version of the jeep wrangler) meanwhile, i want to buy a vw bug and convert it to a baja. i want it to be street legal, so i can't c t the body or fenders. the motor will be a 1600 dp, and i want to run 30/10x15 bridgestone desert duelers at the rear and 215R15 dd's at front. both sides will be lifted a bit. the main problem here in israel is the bad attitude of the police to modified ff-road vehicles such as buggies, bajas, jeeps, atv's, bikes and so on and on. so this bug have to look stock as possible. if you have any good advices to me, please Email me to: artist.inter.net.il thanks!

I would like to learn about rail buggies. The idea is to race Baja in 2001. I may have found a custom frame built 20 years ago from large diameter steel tube (2 1/2 to 3 1/2). pretty cool site. i'am a welder by trade. when i was 18 i built a rail for 1100 bucks it was the most fun car i every built, i guess because i didnt care if i broke it which i never did, even after driving through a very heavy wooded trail, i mean a small aminal trail.But the thing that killed my buggy was rust. The front shock towers rust off and the frame would come off the ground so i sold it. but i'am thinking of doing a v-8 rail too. i'll check back. timbo

I own two fourwheelers and am currently rebuilding my own personal sandrail...it has been a long process but i bought a real piece of work and have completely torn it down to frame only and have been restoring everything to be nothing less than what i bel eve to be almost perfect.
