My Jeep'n History

This page is about how I got started 4-wheeling, where I've gone and places I've explored. I thank GeoCities for giving me the opportunity to create and experiment with this personal page.

I have many interests, including 4-wheeling, exploring, camping, reading. I am excited to use this page to share some of my interests and to learn html programming. Check it out. I hope you find something useful. Don't forget to check out the links. Bookmark this page before leaving.

My original plan is to share a few of my experiences jeep'n, tell you about some of the places I like to explore and show you some of the gadgets I've made to customize my CJ-5. So, let's get going.

This page is also for sharing the fun and to show off some of the photos I've taken during some great wheeling in Utah. I also have another page at K&D Enterprises where I advertise and sell custom air gauges for fellow off-roaders.

My first 4x4 was a Scout. Nice for carrying gear, but not a jeep. I used it to explore many a backcountry road of northern Idaho to the desert areas of southern California.

Next, I bought a '73 Dodge Power Wagon 4x4. Newer, faster, but still not a jeep.

Going off-road and camping every chance I got was my passion. This has been dimmed somewhat by the necessity to earn a living and pay for the weekends of fun.

I wanted a jeep. . . and one day, while driving past a car lot, I spotted a clean looking CJ-5. My dream of owning a real JEEP had come alive. I knew right then she had to be mine.

For a while I kept the jeep stock. However, my travels began to include trails near Moab, Utah. After dragging across low obstacles or spinning tires I began to see a growing "need" for a few modifications.

When the 1st set of tires wore out I replaced the factory rubber with 30" Sport Kings. I've continued improvements by adding a ProComp 2-1/2 lift, Ramsey REP8000 winch, BFG 32x10.50 AT's, compressor and ARB lockers front and rear.

After destroying two sets of steps wheeling some of Moab's finest trails, I finally fabricated a healthy set of nerf bars. I just recently added the Premier Power Welder with high output alternator. I've used it several times already and it definitely lives up to its reputation. I definitely recommend this product. If you are planning on adding a Power Welder, save the shipping by telling them K&D Enterprises sent you. This should get you free shipping.
