RAHRC Sports Hall Information Site

PDO Managing Director Brian Ward showing the new Transformation Trophy in front of the new Sports HallOn 10th September 1998, Brian Ward officially opened the new RAHRC Sports Hall, named Mujamma (Al Riyadah). The Sports Hall is a major milestone in the history of the Ras Al Hamra Club and special credits were expressed to (former) Sports Secretary Sven Kramer for managing the project to its successful end. There were various exciting events on the opening day making it a very successful (family) event. The hall is now fully operational and can be booked for sports and for the Transformation Trophy.

The Opening: 10th September 1998

 
The opening day consisted of five main events: 

1) Demonstration matches in the hall, starting 9 AM. 
Demonstration matches during the official opening 
2) Sport-fair and games outside the hall, starting 1 PM. 
Sport sections (here Landrover club) at their stalls
Kids were entertained by the fire brigade 
3) Indoor super circuit inside the hall, starting 2 PM.

The day was brightened up with Omani dancing and singing in the building. 
The day finished with a band (at the boat club) and BBQ
4) Official opening, 5 PM. 
5) Inaugural football match between the PDO Leadership team and the Ras Al Hamra Main Committee for the Transformation Trophy.
