THE ORGANIZERS
SYMOFE and M.C. SPARTI are the motorcycle clubs
which asked for and granted the right to organize this race by ELPA. Our members are all
motorcyclists with long established involvement and reputation in off road competitions in
Greece. We have also ensured the voluntary cooperation of tenths of members of other Greek
clubs, so we can unconditionally guarantee the successful organization and execution of
the race in every respect.
LOCATION
The race is scheduled to start from Sparta, the
picturesque town on the Evrotas valley. mountain. The location has been chosen for reasons
of easy access for participants and spectators and the wonderful terrain, which makes it
suitable for safe as well as spectacular riding. The special stages are through scenic
countryside on soft ground.
HOW TO GET THERE
Sparta is accessible in the following ways:
By ferry from Italy to Patras and then a 270 km drive
By air. There flights from European capitals to Athens and then a highway driving of 220
k.m.
SPECTATORS
Both for reasons of safety and to enhance the
entertainment aspect of the race, the route has been selected in such a way so that all
the special stages are within easy access of a surfaced road. The total distance to be
covered by someone who wishes to see the race from start to finish, is 16 km on surfaced
country roads with amble time in between to be able to watch all the special stages.
Whether participating or not, you should not miss the chance of a short excursion to the
nearby ancient Greek sites.
ACCOMODATION
Sparta haw the necessary to accommodate hundreds of
visitors in A, B, C and D class hotels. There are restaurants, super markets and shops to
cater for all your needs. The area is served by a network of secondary roads that will
take you to the scenic spot of your choice or just a ride up the mountain.
