Well, I guess I DID have to put my buggy on first. This is a Chromoly chassis built for me by Dave, the owner of Berrien Buggy, INC. THANKS DAVE!...

This is Dean Cox at the turkey run. This is a link/king pin front end. I have seen this happen a lot. The books used to say that the king pin front end is tougher than the ball joint, but I dis-agree. The king pin spindles are very weak compared to the ball joint. The king requires constant maintenance because it has no seals to keep the sand and water out and is costlier to rebuild.

This is Jeff Highfield. I do not know exactly what he was trying to do. Buggies do not climb trees very well. At least not trees THIS size!

This is Phil Davis- Still seated. He was actually laughing under water at one point. Some people just aren't bright. First he put a Dodge 2.2 engine on his bug. Next, maybe he thought it was running hot, and this is what happened. There was only 3 or 4 inches of the frame above the water right before this pic.

Here is another engine alternative. This is Shawn Hogsten and he is running a Saturn engine
The reason he broke is he has a bus torsion housing and it is CAST IRON where the caliper mount welds on...and it broke. He came off of a hill with no brakes and the rest is history. At least no one was hurt, and a lesson well learned.

More soon.... if you have some good ones, send them to me.
