Completion I have recently completed the intire body of my jeep. It is painted and looks great. I hope to have all of the pictures up soon. I am about to start the motor repairs so get ready for that. If you have a picture that you think you would like to see but it is not here, let me know and I will see if I can get it on for you. I have done most of my work by looking at other people's pictures and I know how important they can be. there were many times I wished someone had put up another picture with just a different angle or light. they are a great help. Another thing, if you are doing a project, get your self a web site. They are a bit time consuming but well worth it. Enjoy the pictures below and good luck. I was lucky to find the original hood number of my jeep. By stripping the paint instead of sand blasting it, I was able to remove one layer of paint at a time. This enabled me to be able to see the numbers as they came up. Understand, I am not saying that this was a brilliant idea of mine- I just happened to to see the numbers as the paint was coming off. Take your time here, you to may get lucky. I sand blasted the bottom. Then applied 3 coats of por15 to seal it. I then applied 3 coats of 24087 paint. The interior took a bit longer. After sandblasting, I sealed it with por15 then I rebuilt the ribs and filled the holes with por putty. I sanded the ribs and shaped them like they were the original. They turned out well. |
