BOOKS FOR LIVING

Introduction

‘Books for Living’ is purely an Internet project and does not, at this time, plan to produce books in hard copy. This is our contribution toward a paperless society. We feel that Internet use not only makes the world a smaller place in terms of increasing ease of communication but also can be a factor in saving our forests.

We hope that this method of electronic publication will allow low overhead costs. Such a low overhead would be translated into generous contracts for our authors and should enable us to advertise widely, benefiting the company and the writers who work with us.

A. MacDarragh Burke, MD, who is a founding member of our company, is of Irish ancestry and not entirely ashamed of it. Dr. Burke has agreed to start a section for Irish names and families. A family will be represented by its coat of arms, a map showing where they lived, a short history of the family and some addresses on the Internet where further genealogical information may be acquired. Dr. Burke feels he can add a name a week to this section and he will answer any questions you may have about your ancestry. All the information in this section is, of course, FREE.

As of the present date (18-2-2000) the following books may be purchased through 'Books for Living' :

'Hints on Living for a Young Person' by A. MacDarragh Burke, MD

This little book of poems describes a variety of life experiences, from seeing a Mexican sunset with a granddaughter to thoughts on Bill Clinton.

'Aphorisms and Bumper Stickers' by A. MacDarragh Burke, MD

It is thought erroneously that only wise people can make aphorisms. This book shows, to the contrary, that anybody can aphorize whether in the form of aphorisms or bumper stickers.

'Irish Family Names' by A. MacDarragh Burke, MD

This book is set up in a special internet form that allows each family name to be downloaded seperately. The section for each name contains a short history of the name, the family coat of arms, a map showing where the family lived and a list of internet links where further information may be found.

'Wisdom from Drunks' by Eoghan O'R. (Available 1-V111-2000)

This book contains A. A. philosophy and many wise sayings heard at A. A. meetings.

'Imperial Wisdom' by A. MacDarragh Burke, MD (Available 1-V111-200)

This book comments on the life, times and philosophy of Marcus Aurelius Antoninus, Roman Emperor of the second century A.D.
