Pour 2 gallons of hot water into a 5 gallon container, add the following: 1 pint (16oz) clear Karo or corn syrup 4oz liquid chlorine bleach 2oz kitchen vinegar 1/2 teaspoon 20 mule team Borax or Boraxo hand soap 2oz liquid woolite Cut 1/2 inch from stump and then stir ingredients into water. Stand tree in container and soak tree for 4 - 5 days. Prop up outside in shady area or in garage. Keep out of reach of pets and children! This method is excellent at keeping the needles from shedding and fireproofing your tree. It is still necessary to keep the tree watered while indoors and do not keep lights on while your not home.
