The Lee Look

Mamma and Me

~Happy Mother's Day to all our Mothers~

From South Carolina swamp country,
my family, the Lees, are
a family of matriarchs.
(However, the infamous genetic Lee look is
patricidal in origin.)

Okay…onward through the fog...the genetic Lee look.
First, it’s usually but not always blue-eyed.
There is no exact description I can give you
because
it comes in parts.

Part I: "You must be jesting, my friend..."
Part II: angry and/or haughty
Part III: overly cerebral
Part IV: "I beg your pardon..."
Part V: "Don’t mess with me, Buddyrow...
(And I don’t want to have to tell you that twice)
And, ultimately:
Parr VI: "If I live,(and I will),
You pay for this forever..."
~That’s the Lee Look~

Mamma had 'the look' badbadbad,
Her Daddy could set a fire with a sideways glance...
(spoiled brat...only child syndrome).
Greatgranddaddy Rome.

Aunt B has it, Sansan...her bro.
Uncle D...his gurlsssssssss.
J.C. had it like Mamma.
My uncles namesake, DC, (La Basteure...)
(my browneyed babyboy)...has it.
Blackflag can fry an egg with his. (My firstborn).

Joel...his Mom and my Sis, Little Red,...
(don’t ask her anything two times, please)
(unless you're on your knees)
(or have a fever over 104 degrees...).

J.C.'s son too, of course.
And, Lord, he's got red hair too.
Then, Aunt P,
Michellemybelle, her brother,
Noelle...Yours Truly...
(A…hemmm...thebaglady).
(Oh, SirBob too. Yep.)
The apple does not fall far from the tree.

'The Lee Look' gets all of us in trouble
sooner or later, all our lives...
especially blue-eyed Lees, who seem
to have a double-dose of this genetic happenstance.

A few of us have even been sent typed letters...
about this 'Look.'...
One of us is emailed about it
fairly regularly...
Will name no names, Fam...

And, to set the record straight right now,
Grandma Lee did not have the 'Lee' look.
She had other ways she struggled through life.
She could never do one thing with
her unruly offspring.
Ohhhhhhhhhh...Grandma would like that line,Beloved.

It does not help the situation
I am sorry to report,
that Lees (males and females) are
slow to forgive, secretive,
stretchers-of-the-truth...
We never forget a slight, and
are born indignant, possessive and tormented.

Further, we are practical, independent, brave,
arrogant, circuitous, devious, oblique, proud...
headstrong, high-strung, and territorial...
to a fault.

To our family’s good credit,
thus balancing the books somewhat,
we are
steadfast, interesting, cheerful, charming,
caretaking, intelligent, sensual, talented,
stoic, diplomatic, skilled, hale, loyal,
hardworking, dependable, and fashionable.

But, unfortunately, 'The Lee Look', has yet
another dire, encumbering aspect...
It is almost always accompanied by
‘THE LEE NOSE’ !!!!!

Distinct in nature also,
this haughtily-structured beezer...
But hey, enough Lee for one reading !
Come back and read more baglady another time.
No, SanSan, I will not write about 'THE LEE EYEBROW' !!!

‘MIB’….(Message in Bottle):
A Lee a Day keeps the termites at bay…

~~~thebaglady has spoken~~~
Guess that's all I've got in me tonight.
Happy Mother's Day, Mamma.
