At a recent family gathering near Sumter, South Carolina,
we had some delicious, delicious food.
Besides fried chicken et all, there were
butterbeans, ham...Cuz Cameron gave me
his infam Rutabaga recipe...
Later in the afternoon we lapsed into talking about
our next Presidential Election.
A healthy discussion ensued that brought out
these factors:
Aunt B...sounds 'Bushy' to me...
Uncle V...is concerned about 'the youth' of today...
My Bro...will probably vote Gore
Cuz San...'redcheeked' here and there...
(Baglady forges onward thru the bog.)
Even if some scandals come out,
Aunt B and Uncle V will vote George Bush.
Bro made few 'non-comments'hereandthere, but finally
admitted he has NEVER voted Republican in his life...
Ah-HAH!!!!
(This admitted in heat of discussion after 'Madonna').
MADONNA ???????
Yes, our own Madonna.
Yours truly admitted she wished Madonna would run
for President.
Complete momentary silence!
I don't know where this came from -
I was earnestly trying to think...
WHO might run for President
who could beat George Bush, or Gore???
Other possible candidates mentioned were -
Jesse Ventura (no real support in this group),
Ted Turner...San likes him.
Aunt Ba and Bro like Ted too.
(thebaglady even likes Ted...)
I mentioned I'd heard Hulk Hogan say (on television)
he might run for president...
TheDonald...Yuk!
(I heard Trump say he definitely does NOT plan to run).
(on television also).
Barbara Striesand...(spelling???)...nonono.
None of these candidates generate much interest,
do they?
It was noted that John Kennedy cannot run now,
the great disappointment that is
to many Americans.
Upon reflection, I think Madonna would make
a good President.
She's intelligent, talented, strong,
courageous, relentless...
she had neo-grassroots.
(~Apartment Buildings do count~)
My brother blushed when I kept talking about
what a good President Madonna would be...
but I could see the idea taking hold -
he's not abhorrent to this idea at all
next to thebottomline.
And Cuz San likes the idea very much -
she and I both think Madonna would do something about
these men who beat up on women and children,
and very seldom end up in jail where they belong.
Aunt B says she will move to Costa Rica if
Madonna is elected!
Now, I sure hope she doesn't go to that
extreme...
no matter how 'barren' America's
political scene is temporarily...
We need her here.
So, Madonna, what do you say?
Are you game?
Now is your chance, your bestbest chance.
It appears George Bush may well become
our next president
UNLESS MADONNA RUNS.
Al Gore doesn't seem strong enough to
combat
the Bush power structure successfully.
Bush's packing a whammy!
Over and over this summer, I've heard this:
'There's nobody to run for president...
WHO is there???? NOBODY...'
It really is a Gore/Bush race
unless Madonna runs!
So, Madonna - come on Homegirl, do it.
