Jung

According to Carl Jung, Scott Joplin was an extrovert. An extrovert can be described as someone who is objective, emotional, creative, able to motivate others, and someone who is open to new experiences. An extrovert could also be described as someone who projects his or her abilities on the world.

Scott Joplin was a very creative man. In his lifetime of 48 years, he wrote numerous musical pieces. He became the main symbol of ragtime music. He also encouraged many artists to become successful in the music business, by his accomplishments (Preston, 46).

Scott Joplin also possessed some qualities of an introvert. An introvert can be described as someone who is aloof, focused on ideas, quiet, shy, and sensitive. Scott was known to be extremely quiet, serious, and modest. He was not very good at small talk, and had a profound belief in education (http://www.scottjoplin.org/bio.html).
