THE IRON DRAGON

NAMED AFTER: A mythical beast of long ago

THEME: Simulates flight as it's bright blue cars, suspended under it's red track, sway side to side with the force of gravity. Riders skim above treetops and swoop over a misty lagoon. A giant pretzel-knot loop over water creates an exciting finale.

TRACK LENGTH: 2,800 feet

LIFT HEIGHTS: 76 feet and 62 feet

TIME: 2 min

SPEED: 35-40 mph

CARS: 3 trains with 7 4-passenger across cars

OPENED: 1987

WHERE: Cedar Point, Sandusky, Ohio

MY COMMENTS: This was the first hanging coaster I ever rode, and I thought it was the greatest thing in the world. It is still a little fun, but it is not thrilling at all. It's more relaxing than anything else.
