Hi there. First, I guess I should tell you a little bit about myself. My name is Phyllis Pugh, and I am a neurobiologist (if you are picky, I guess I am a molecular developmental neuroscientist). I did my undergraduate work at Caltech, where I was a member of Ricketts House. I received my Ph.D. from the Biology Department at the University of California, San Diego where I did my research under the supervision Dr. Darwin Berg. If you want a little more personal and detailed biography, check this one out. I did my first postdoc in the Department of Neurobiology at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. My current research centers on how nicotine might change the way the nervous system develops. (You can check here for the summary of my research interests from my c.v. or you can just check out my complete vita.) I just moved to the Department of Anatomy and Neurobiology at the Medical College of Ohio to continue my research into nicotinic receptor mechanisms in development. I am currently working with Dr. Joseph Margiotta. I am also a Community Leader here at GeoCities, so feel free to email me with questions about this site. If I can't help, I will direct you to someone who can. I am compiling a list of resources that I find useful, and if you have suggestions let me know. There's also a help form on that page that you can use to send me questions. I have been compiling this site for the last 2 years, but it is never finished. If all goes well, you might even be able to find the research plans of some of the people in the field. I also plan to work a bit more on my Ashtabula page, about my hometown in Ohio. If there are any ESHS alumni out there, let me know because we are planning a Warrior Alumni page. I plan to add a little more about myself, a little about my research, and a little bit about what I do for fun. Needless to say, all those things keep me pretty busy, so I haven't had time to work here much. Below, you will find some of my favorite (or most useful) science links and a few others as well. For now, I have to get back to working on material that will be in the next grant. Some of the Other Things I Do for Fun:
