Responsible for all aspects of e-business data warehousing and analysis systems. 
Hired and managed the team responsible for the development and operation of these systems. 
Designed, developed and deployed a high-volume site traffic analysis and reporting system using C and Perl on a PVM-based parallel cluster of Linux machines.  
Designed, developed and deployed a complete ecommerce reporting suite tapping into the Open Market Transact back-end Oracle database, using SQL, Perl and PHP.  
All reports are accessed by the end users via easy to use forms on the group's web server.  
Trained data customers in how to use the reports and interpret the data, and consulted with them on their future data requirements. 
Worked with Marketing and Business Development to help them deploy the appropriate tools to track partnership and advertising campaign returns. 
Provided ad hoc data when required. 
Handled special projects: web site back-end debugging, data migration between databases, developing a web performance measurement tool and a high-volume packet sniffer for bandwidth measurement. 


Manager, Site Traffic Analysis - April 1998 - June 1999

Responsible for overall site traffic analysis and data interpretation for several large web sites. 
Designed, developed and coordinated the implementation of a  custom high-volume site traffic analysis software suite. 
Managed the log wrangling and data analysis crew 
Provided traffic analysis related technical and engineering to design and production teams when building and implementing the sites. 
Specified the server data to be collected. 
Helped customer define their analysis requirements, and helped them understand data analysis interpretation. 
Reviewed commercial and Open Source site traffic analysis tools.

Webmaster and Logmaster - April 1996 - April 1998

Responsible for log wrangling on several large web sites, for the purposes of site traffic analysis. 
Developed custom log analysis scripts when needed. 
Evaluated site tracking software. 
Implemented and maintained the Advertising system on several high-volume web sites, including implementation planning, software installation and configuration, and coordination with the Ad Sales group for tracking and interpretation. 
As a member of a team of webmasters, dealt with the day to day issues of supporting several large, high traffic, rapidly evolving web sites. This included the implementation of new content on the site, as well as the maintenance of a rich array of software associated with the web sites.

Jet Propulsion Laboratory, Ocean Science Research Element, TOPEX/POSEIDON Satellite Project 
Information Systems Manager 
Planned, procured and implemented the NASA TOPEX/POSEIDON Project's video production facility and a data processing network, with a yearly budget up to $400K. Responsible for computer equipment procurement. Experienced in negotiating with vendors. 
Managed the Project's computer network and implemented security features, porting software over to Silicon Graphics as required. Assumed the leadership in Silicon Graphics-related computer security efforts for JPL by researching and authoring lab-wide security policies. 
Managed the Research Element's Sun Microsystems and Apple Macintosh computer networks, including planning for the networks' evolution and new equipment procurement, with a yearly budget up to $100K. 
Multimedia Technical Director 
Supported the NASA TOPEX/POSEIDON Project. Responsible for all aspects of graphics production. 
Prepared broadcast quality video animations in 2D and 3D and publication quality graphics product of satellite oceanography data. Developed custom graphics software as required by this task. 
Designed and developed the TOPEX/POSEIDON World Wide Web site, including creating all artwork and installing the server. 
Developed some specialized graphics and image processing software to display scientific ocean topography data as requested by the Research Element.
