Ohio State Highway Patrol In Fremont Switches To A New Radio System

The Ohio State Highway Patrol post in Fremont has switched to their new system within the last couple of months. We do not have these frequencies yet or even know if they can be picked up on a non digital trunking scanner. When we find out more information on the system we will make an extra page and link it to the main web site. When the State Patrol’s new system goes down (it has a few times already) then they will use their old radio’s left in their cars as a backup. The old frequencies are 44.980 for the base and 44.820 for the cars.

Sandusky County Uses New Frequency For Dispatching Fire And EMS

The Sandusky County Sheriff's Office is now using a new UHF frequency for dispatching for their EMS and the Fire Departments. The new channel is for setting off the tones for the EMS and fire departments. When the EMS units are enroute they still use their old channel (462.9500) for contacting the base and unit to unit. The tone frequency is 453.7000 and they also use 454.475. The Fire Departments use the tone frequency for unit to unit and unit to base communications. Both 453.7000 and 454.475 broadcast at the same time with the same radio traffic. 454.475 seems to be a stronger signal in the western and central areas of Sandusky County.
