Encompassing 160 acres, Disneyland is an amusement park located in Anaheim, California. Opened on July 17, 1955, Disneyland was conceived by Walt Disney as an alternative to the dirty, cut-rate amusement parks that he and his daughters had experienced as a family.
What resulted from one man's dream was an amusement park that no one had ever seen before - a park organized around the central idea of being family oriented and maintaining a high quality of standards. As one of the most popular vacation destinations in the U.S., Disneyland continues to embrace and practice these values. Today, Disneyland consists of over 60 attractions, 30 restaurants, and 50 shops distributed among eight themed areas or "lands".
Disneyland no longer utilizes a ticket coupon book (the "infamous" A through E tickets). Instead, you purchase a Passport ticket good for the number of days you'd like to visit the park. Prices vary according to the type of Passport ticket (determined by length of stay) and age. Special discounts are also available for members of the Magic Kingdom Club or through local hotel and travel agencies.
All Passports allow unlimited use of all attractions except for the arcades (however, certain restrictions apply for annual Passports).
