This is where I work, L.A. Center. It's about 60 miles northeast of LAX, which is fine by me. The airspace is from Mexico to Yuma, AZ to the half way mark between L.A. and San Francisco and out to Las Vegas. There are about 300 controllers that work at the center. I will be in training for about 3 years (and yes, that's after 8 years of Air Force ATC experience). Training sucks. I waited 8 years to get into the FAA and now that I am here ... well, I am very very happy. I love my Goverment job! I get paid pretty good to sit on my ass all day and talk to airplanes. There are worse ways to make a living. |
