• With the vernier we can measure depth using the extension bar/depth gage

• Using the main jaws we can measure outside diameter or distances from shoulders or edges.

• The nibs on the top of the vernier can be used for measuring Inside Diameters or widths of grooves.
• The vernier caliper can be set at a specific measurement and used as a quality control tool by comparing variations in size of various parts.
