My favourite watches (1): the Minerva Pythagore Anniversary

To me, this is the quintessential watch. It's a Minerva Pythagore Anniversary. It really is a classic, similar watches were made by Minerva (and others) since the 1930s. The silver dial with its solid red gold numerals and leaf hands, and subsidiary seconds, is based on early military designs. Mechanically, this watch has it all: an in-house movement, almost unchanged since 1943. It now has a swan-neck micro-regulator and Geneva striping. All bridges are designed according to the golden section, which makes it a very esthetically pleasing movement. Here is a picture of the movement.
