How do you know what to report to the Net Control Station?

The National Weather Service holds storm watcher classes around the state throughout the
year.  These classes are announced on the various nets as the information comes available. Everyone is encouraged to attend whenever you have the chance. I have attended 5 or 6 of the classes myself and they are very informative and I've enjoyed all of them.
You will also receive a nice certificate after you take the classes.
They will make an attractive addition to your radio room.

I would like to remind everyone of the importance of
the weather nets
and how vital your input can be toward adding to the protection of property and lives in the event of severe weather moving through our area.
So, please check in and do your part.  tks de

What is the National Skywarm Program?

YOUR INPUT TO THE NWS IS VERY IMPORTANT !.

The NWS gets much of their on the spot, as it happens,  damage reports
from THE HAM RADIO COMMUNITY. This is the only way they can get direct reports of what's happening at ground level during these dangerous and distructive storms.
While their radars will give them high level information about storm formations and movement, they cannot see what's happening at ground level. We give them wind, hail,
rain, damage reports as we see them.
You can get much of this up to the minute information by monitoring the local
Ham Radio Repeaters.
Try 146.610 in the Columbus, Ga. area for "live reports".
