| This is about Marijuana, cannabis, pot, weed, and you probably know a lot of other names for it that I've never heard of. A recent publication lists over 200 slang terms for this weed that grows very easily everywhere in the country. Fact is this is a very dangerous and harmful drug that you should avoid using, at all cost. I will list some reasons for not using this and other psychedelic and/or other drugs whether legal or not. This is also about alcohol and tobacco. People use drugs as an attempt at escaping problems and sometimes just for "fun" and they (the drugs) create more problems for them and their friends and families than they could ever have without the use of these poisons. Many times you will hear reference to use of drugs and alcohol... well I think there should be no difference in these because alcohol is one of the most used and most dangerous drugs available to us all. Even though, if you are old enough you can purchase it legally, it is no less dangerous to us than any of the other drugs. I do not and have never smoked cigarettes. They are a nasty and expensive habit as well as another of the deadly drugs that you face today. I have had several friends who have died from lung cancer after years of being trapped into this very bad habit. It's difficult to watch a friend that you have known for many years and over a year or so they seem to just decay from the inside out and all the treatment in the world can't reverse the damage that has been done by years of use of one of the most dangerous and widely used as well as highly advertised drug in the world. This is also a LEGAL drug or has been in the past. The fact that this and some of the other deadly and dangerous drugs ARE LEGAL does not make them any different from the ILLEGAL ONES as far as the damage they do to the people who CHOOSE to use them sometimes for years before they really start suffering and dying from their decision to use their drug of choice. This is not to preach about right and wrong. It's also not about what's legal or illegal, but, it's about choices that we all have and make every day. Fact is that many of the choices that you and I make have lasting and lifetime effects on not only our lives but everyone around us. Maybe if we take a little longer in deciding what these choices are, we may be more able to make the Right choice and insure a healthier and safer future for all of us. ******************************************* This is for the young folks that might see this message. Webster gives the definition of (a person or thing of the same rank, value, quality, ability etc.) for the word PEER. You hear so much about young folks doing this or that due to peer pressure. Well while this might be true in some cases, you must remember that, PEER PRESSURE CAN AND WILL WORK BOTH WAYS, my friends. So, if you see a friend who might want to try dangerous drugs or who might want to do anything that may pose a danger to him/her or anyone around them, Just say "hey, you are my friend and I don't want you to take the chance with what you are about to do". You might make a difference in a person for the rest of his/her life. That is a great feeling when someone comes back to you later and says "I'm glad you said what you did to me that day because it sure made a difference to me and my life". Try it and you might be surprised. I've had it come back to me and it sure feels good to have made a differenct in someones lifestyle that could save their life sometimes later down the road. ***************************************** The drugs that I mentioned are just the tip of the problem but they are readily available and are the ones that may lead many young folks into more dangerous and deadly drugs later and ultimately lead to their suffering or the suffering of friends or family members. ***************************************** There are people every day who are brought to near death or even may die from using some over the counter drugs, such as Tylenol, Asprin, and others. One very dangerous drug, and while it may not be thought of as a drug, The gum that is used to supposedly help folks stop smoking, that contains different amounts of nicotene, can put a child into full cardiac arrest, (THAT'S DEATH FOLKS, IF IT ISN'T CORRECTED IMMEDIATELY! ) THIS IS A MEDICAL EMERGENCY !!!!! If they accidently chew it, thinking it is "chewing gum", and injest this poison. So, as I said, it's not all about legal or illegal. These are just some of the important decisions, that you and I must consider every day. ****************************************** I heard and will never forget, a statement, when I was about 12 or 13 years old, that went something like. "The drunk that killed those three folks, in the accident last night, was so drunk, that he didn't remember getting into his car at 1 am and driving out the road and causing an accident that killed those others and put him in ICU, so he wasn't really responsible for it" Then the person speaking said, " but he made THE choice to have the first drink so he was responsible for whatever happened" ***************************************** It's all about choices that we, you and I, must make every day that we live. We don't always make the best choices but if we think about what can happen, maybe we will make more good ones than bad ones. The fact that you have a choice is what matters to all of us. Again, this is not about LEGAL OR ILLEGAL, but it's about OUR ability to choose what's best for us, that can have an effect on our lives from now on. Just think about it. Thanks for reading this.
