MO Title

Glenn Sprigg. Residing in Adelaide, in the state of South-Australia.
My interests include Photography, Electronics, the Aussie OutBack! and vintage Radio/Valve equip,
and would like to do my bit for this country in preserving a record of history/artifacts so that the next generations will know how it all started. I also doubt if there are vintage valve enthusiasts who don't
feel that this 'GlassWare' is like semi-transparent works of ART, that actually does something too!

This site will continually change, and there will be new articles, stories, items to identify etc., on at least a weekly basis, (or less!), so there will always be something new and of interest to all.

ALL IMAGE TEXT IS REPAIRED.
One of the problems with multiple photocopies and scans, is reading difficulty. Any such images have the text completely re-done, with minimal loss of the original 'authenticity' of the image.

UGLY/DISTORTED GRAPHICS REPAIRED.
Any graphical quality loss is completely reworked. If any of this is too far gone, then it is completely re-drawn from scratch. One example of this, is my depictions of valve basing diagrams. (Eg.on right). I have built a 'lego-kit' of all valve-parts, which facilitates quick & easy graphical compilations, which are being added to as fast as I can, which is initially in the order of what valves I have.
(When complete, a copy of all these will be sent to the 'Nostalgia-Air' site. (See 'Links' page).).

The final major difference, incorporates how you gather information from this site.
Most sites on the Internet, (what ever topic!), show you vast amounts of info on the screen, which
you can read on line, but saving the information becomes a problem. If you Mouse-Select the text,
or choose 'Select All' from the menu, and then copy/paste into one of your word processors or
editors, you loose all the neat formatted layout, as well as having to separately download any of the
graphical elements that may have been embedded within. With my site, virtually everything you can
see on-line, will be available for download as complete documents, fully formatted, and in 2 forms.
For PC users, these will be Zipped .WRI files, which I have chosen for reasons of downward
compatability with any people still using a 386-based machine, and/or only using Win-3.1x, and/or
people who don't have 'M.S.-Word'. In this way, ALL PC-users can view/print any of the files !
For MAC users, I will eventually include compatable files for use on a Macintosh. (If anyone
knows of a zip-type compression tool that will run on a PC, to compress files that can be
un-compressed on a Mac., then let me know and I'll compress these Mac files as well).
