Jared's Links

Take a look at the following links.  They are the web-pages where I spend a lot of my internet time surfing.  If you have a link that you would like included on my link page, simply e-mail me with the address.

Brad's Geology Web-Page.  This site has good articles on topics such as "Gold Panning," "Gold Assaying," and "Electron Microanalysis." Kayla's Web-Page.  This site has some great links and some programs that Kayla has written.

South Dakota State University, the college I attend.  This college in Brookings, SD is one of the nicest colleges in the midwest with an awesome campus, nice people, and  reputable programs.  SDSU offers degrees in many different areas including:  Engineering, Pharmacy, Agricultural Sciences, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and much, much more.  Check SDSU out!
South Dakota State University Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry.  Interested in a degree in chemistry?  Check out SDSU's chemistry program.  You won't find a nicer group of people!

Check out DANLAND, a site written by Dan Carlson, a meteorologist from Rapid City's Television Station FOX 7.  Dan's extreme knowledge of Science is exemplified in this site as it is full of interesting information in the sciences ranging from chemistry, geology, biology, physics, meteorology, etc.  This site is full of excellent information for people of all ages.
LC-GC Magazine is an awesome reference for you organic chemists into chemical separation technology.  Topics of interest are, but not limited to: Gas Chromatography, Column Chromatography, Liquid Chromatography, HPLC and much, much more.

One of the best science magazines is undoubtedly Popular Science Magazine.  Popular Science has some great articles on chemistry-related topics, but they also present topics about astronomy, physics, biology, meteorology, and much more.  Check out this great link.

Looking for some great chemistry software?  Check out Softshell and Bio-Rad Laboratories.  Download their new version of ChemWeb for Windows.  I use this program for all my organic chemistry molecular structure drawings.  They are coming out with new programs all the time, so check them out and keep going back!

The School of Mines and Technology in Rapid City, SD is well-known for its programs in geology, mining, and metallurgical engineering. SDSM&T specializes in engineering.  If you have any questions about the SDSM&T and want them answered by a student of SDSM&T, e-mail my friend Brad.

Check out the American Chemical Society.  Their web-page tells about becoming a member of this highly distinguished society and it also allows you to read publications.  The ACS web-page contains clipart images for those who want to find that perfect chemistry image.

Be sure and visit Spectroscopy On-Line.  They publish a very good magazine that contains a lot of useful information in the areas of spectroscopy.  Their web-page is designed well, so you can find whatever you are looking for easily.

Yet another tremendous reference for Spectroscopy, TosoHaas specializes in Liquid Chromatography.  Go to their web-page and order a free catalog that has information on the new resins and columns in today's market, technical data, new applications, questions and answers, and solutions to many LC problems many scientists encounter.
Glencoe CampResort

Ever heard of the Sturgis Rally & Races in Sturgis, South Dakota?  Hundreds of thousands of motorcyclists across the world converge to my hometown for a week of fun.  Stay at Glencoe CampResort, a campground along Bear Butte Creek nestled in the Black Hills of South Dakota with awesome food! I work here during the summers, so be sure and check it out!
KEVN/FOX 7

The Black Hills has a few local television stations, but my favorite is KEVN FOX 7.  KEVN is dedicated to bringing the most updated local news, weather and sports to the area.  The people who make up the station are committed to the people, not necessarily the ratings. KEVN also sports one of the best meteorologists I have ever seen and met (Dan Carlson @ Danland).  Check them out and keep up on all the Black Hills area news!

If you are a freshman chemistry student who is struggling with the concepts of general chemistry, this page is great for you.  This page describes the fundamental theories and information required for a solid understanding of chemistry.  This site is also wonderful as a review of important concepts.
