At Skyview High School in Vancouver, Washington, something revolutionary is happening; A group of Students are going to launch a rocket into space. In doing so, they will become the first non-professional, amateur rocketry group ever to put anything in space. This is The Alpha Project.

Tuesday, June 29th 1999
Project Alpha has scrubbed for the summer. Due to lack of funding and time/weather restrictions. This is a decision that has been weighing on us heavily for quite some time, and it was hard to realize. We will pick up the project in 2000, hoping for a summer launch then. We have announced that our new launch site is back to Christmas Valley, due to FAA regulations and sheer convenience. More to come...


Monday, May 24th, 1999.

JPaerospace has failed in their attempt to be the first amateurs into space. They had scheduled their launch for the 22nd of May, in Black Rock, Nevada. This leaves the title of first into space, (and the cash prize) open for our taking. Check it out in their own words Here.
